Join a gym?

Hey to the best women's networking group in Southwest Florida!

It's almost swimsuit season! Oh my! So, I've been toying with the idea of joining a gym and starting to work-out. Then I remind myself that I have never fully utilized a gym membership in my life!
There are many reasons why joining a gym right now would be good. For one thing, I've noticed that most of them have dropped their prices and are no longer asking for a contract. If you find this is the case, gyms have great equipment, personal trainers for hire, and nutrition advice. If you think you will actually go, then now would be the time.
In my case, I think I realized long ago when I was home with small children that going to the gym just wasn't going to be an option for me. Money was also a consideration as I was a stay-at-home mom. What are the other options for staying in shape if a gym membership isn't your cup of tea?
There are many books at the local library on health and fitness. You can also check out an exercise DVD at the library. Netflix is another option, you can rent an exercise DVD and try it out for as long as you want before investing the money to purchase it. Also, there are many websites that you can find that will have demonstrations of how to properly work-out even in a home setting.
One thing I've always done is try to walk every single day for at least thirty minutes. And on the days that I am fortunate enough to meet a friend for a walk, sometimes we walk for an hour and a half because we are having such a good time, it doesn't even feel like exercise!
I'm actually starting to think about scheduling "walking meetings", especially with the business I'm in or even when I am mentoring women in business, a walk would be a great way to connect!
So, whether you are working this week or training women in business, I hope these reminders will help you stay focused on your own health goals and ways to meet those goals!

How about a gym buddy? They can make you go! I'm starting to train for my triathlon if anyone wants to come to the "Y" with me....
Good luck and get ready for swim suits...

You’re right! Finding an exercise program can be challenging. I have been in the fitness industry for 25 years. I have seen all types of fads and quick fixes come and go. The one thing that doesn’t change is that fact that people need to find a motivation or goal and stick with it. I drive me nuts when parents find excuses why they can’t workout. Your kids and family are your motivation! Don’t you want to have the energy to play with your kids, don’t you want to be a roll model for your family, and don’t you want to be around for them for a long long time? It is time to get motivated go to www.soolis.com find a gym or find some home equipment and do it for your family!
